HELP WWF SAVE THE HELLBENDER SALAMANDER AND OTHER SPECIES BY ADOPTING A PLUSH ANIMAL TODAY

From southern New York to northern Alabama, Hellbender Salamanders can be found in clear, fast moving streams with rocky bottoms and debris for cover. These carnivorous amphibians dine primarily on crayfish and employ an uneven suction to feed, lowering one side of their jaws and drawing in prey on a jet stream. Hellbender salamanders are threatened due to agricultural runoff and damming of rivers and streams for recreation and power plants.
